Club Possible
Club Possible is a comprehensive physical activity and nutrition program aimed at improving physical activity behavior and healthy eating habits of children in after-school programs at the following Activate Omaha partners’ sites.
The 3 basic components of Club Possible focus on increasing physical activity, encouraging better nutrition choices and reinforcing lifestyle changes through family support.
Outdoor family activities are held once a month at most sites (family nights are special events where the child’s whole family can have fun, participate in activities and learn together).
In addition to building self-confidence and self-esteem,
the children who participate in Club Possible develop a positive attitude about physical activity and healthy eating that will last a lifetime. The program hopes to reach at least 1,000 of Omaha’s youth.
This program will be managed by the Douglas County Health Department and contributing organizations including the University of Nebraska at Omaha, University Extension Nutrition Education Program, and The Visiting Nurse Association.
